Algyői Halászcsárda

Was here for lunch today and we was not disappointed. The mixed fish soup was recommended, and of course that’s what I choose from the delicious menu of choices. Friendly English speaking staff with a great atmosphere, to top off the great soup we had. Not only the soup was nice but the mixed fish plate and the turkey and cheese was also delicious. A worthy recommendation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our experience was very good. As we arrived, straight away the waiter come with the menu. Very kind and helpful. The place is very nice, parking is quite big. Food, it's amazing good and comes in big portions. Prices are not expensive for the good food they make. You can come with kids. No problem for wheelchair . I do recommend this place. Enjoy

My new top spot for Halászlé (Hungarian fish soup). If you're afraid of bones or unsure if you can finish the 3 person normal fish soup order, you can choose a cup of fileed carp fish soup. The Carp paprikash with "túróscsusza" (cottage cheese egg pasta) is heavenly. If you're pescatarian make sure to ask for "pörc nélkül" (without bacon bits), as otherwise that's a given. In general portions are huge. Share portions for 2 or even 3 persons for fish soup, My favorite is the carp one which is super delicious here, but if this is your first time ordering mixed (carp and catfish) will give you the lay of the land. Soup base is somewhat spicy (they'll give you extra green peppers which are seriously spicy (add gradually if more heat is needed), and all foods are slightly salty, which is true to local traditional cooking.

I am by no means a fish person so when I found out that we would be eating here it was almost my worst nightmare However , they do a brilliant meat menu aswell and I can strongly recommend the turkey filled with ham and cheese Great service to top it all off and would most certainly recommend it

Stopped for a quick meal as we were travelling through Hungary and found a place I'd detour to again! Loved the fried carp dishes but everything we had was good and the waiter, who spoke English (we speak no Hungarian,) couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Great value for money too!

Great place to eat the famous Szegedi halászlé! The soup was awesome! The portions are big. The waiters are friendly and the athmospere is inviting! Whenever I have the chance to be in Szeged, I always try to drive out to Algyő to eat a traditional fish soup! A place that you must exerience!
